Don't Dump it, Swap it Shop Terms & Conditions

At the “Don’t Dump It, Swap It Shop” we are committed to providing our subscribers with access to quality clothing, therefore, please only submit items you would be happy to receive.

 

  • The items must be of fair value to the item you wish to Swap.

  • For example, New DM Boot are valued at £120, we believe the fair value to be £60.

We may accept items with small defects. Please list these when submitting.

We do not accept the following items for hygiene reasons:

- Underwear

- Swimwear

- Socks or Hosiery

- Footwear that has been worn down, NEW or LIKE NEW  are accepted.

- Jewellery for piercings

​

We reserve the right to reject any items submitted, if we feel it is not in line with our policy.

 We do not currently offer refunds.

However, if you are unhappy with the item received, you are free to resubmit it to the Don’t Dump It, Swap It Shop.

​

We are unable to reimburse if you decide to cancel your subscription, but you can cancel at any time.

Delivery Policy

A standard shipping rate of £6.00 applies to all clothing items.

Don’t Dump It, Swap It Shop uses a third party to ship all items, so you should expect to receive your item(s) in 5-7 working days.

 

Sorry, we do not currently ship internationally.

Returns & Exchange Policy

1. Item Quality and Condition Standards

1.1 Participants must only submit clothing that is clean, wearable, and in a condition reasonably suitable for reuse.

1.2 Items must be free from major defects, including but not limited to:

•          large tears

•          significant staining

•          broken zips

•          structural damage

•          strong odours

​

1.3 Minor defects may be accepted only where fully disclosed at the point of submission. The Organisation reserves the right to determine what constitutes a “minor” or “major” defect.

1.4 The Organisation retains full discretion to reject any item that, in its reasonable opinion, does not meet the required standards or is inconsistent with the Organisation’s policies or mission.

2. Honesty and Transparency

​

2.1 Participants must provide accurate and complete information regarding the condition of all items submitted.

​

2.2 Failure to disclose known defects, alterations, or material issues may result in the rejection of items or suspension of participation rights.

​

2.3 Participants must not use the Organisation’s services to dispose of unwearable, damaged, or waste clothing.

​

3. Respectful Conduct

​

3.1 Participants must treat all staff, volunteers, and other participants with courtesy, respect, and consideration.

​

3.2 Harassment, discrimination, abusive behaviour, or conduct that creates an unsafe or hostile environment will not be tolerated.

​

3.3 The Organisation reserves the right to remove any Participant whose behaviour breaches this Code.

4. Compliance With Swap Procedures

​

4.1 Participants must follow all submission, approval, and exchange procedures as communicated by the Organisation.

​

4.2 Items may not be listed, displayed, or exchanged without prior approval from the Organisation.

​

4.3 Decisions made by the Organisation regarding item acceptance, rejection, or removal are final.

​

5. Health, Safety, and Hygiene

​

5.1 All items submitted must be freshly laundered and free from contaminants.

​

5.2 Participants must not submit items that may pose health or safety risks, including but not limited to:

•          mould‑affected garments

•          items contaminated with bodily fluids

•          items containing hazardous materials

​

5.3 The Organisation may remove any item deemed unsafe or unhygienic.

​

6. Environmental Responsibility

​

6.1 Participants acknowledge that the Organisation operates with the aim of reducing textile waste and promoting circular fashion.

​

6.2 Participants agree to act in a manner consistent with this mission, including refraining from using the service as a means of disposing of unsuitable or non‑reusable items.

 

7. Resubmission of Items

​

7.1 If a Participant is dissatisfied with an item received through the swap, they may resubmit the item to the Organisation, provided it is returned in the same condition in which it was received.

​

7.2 Resubmission is subject to the same quality and disclosure requirements outlined in this Code.

​

8. Breach of the Code

​

8.1 The Organisation reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to any breach of this Code, including but not limited to:

•          rejection of submitted items

•          temporary suspension from participation

•          permanent removal from the swap programme

8.2 The Organisation’s decisions regarding breaches are final.

​

9. Amendments

​

9.1 The Organisation may amend this Code from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or safety requirements.

9.2 Updated versions will be made available through the Organisation’s website or other communication channels.
